My Story
I am a PhD student at Rutgers University focusing on using hydrogeophysical methods to better characterize and better understand the subsurface structure and hydrology of high-altitude Andean peatlands in the Cusco region of Peru, known locally as bofedales. These systems provide water storage and aid in downstream base flow and are vital nature-based solutions to water resources, as these regions are known to face water scarcity issues due to precipitation patterns where little to no rain falls during 4 to 5 months of the year.
I completed my undergraduate B.S degree at Rutgers University in Geoscience Engineering and have worked in environmental consulting and at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. I enjoy teaching and am excited about being able to do this as part of the GEMS program!
